Make a few decisions first
Choose a date or a small range of dates, decide who will attend and discuss the setting you enjoy. Keep the number of locations manageable.
Confirm your celebrant, photographer and ceremony permission before arranging travel or accommodation around the wedding.
Allow for the legal notice
Your celebrant normally needs your Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before the wedding and no more than 18 months ahead. A shorter period needs approval.
An elopement still needs the required legal words, documents and two adult witnesses. Read the marriage planning guide.
Leave the rest of the day comfortable
You might follow the ceremony with photographs, a meal or a night away. Keep some time unallocated so you can enjoy the place and each other.
Have a weather alternative and one clear timetable for guests and suppliers. Those few arrangements make a relaxed day easier to enjoy.
