Look at your partner
During your vows and ring exchange, turn towards each other as well as listening to your celebrant. You do not need to keep looking at the camera.
Take your time. A pause, a laugh or a tear is part of the day, and your celebrant can guide you if you lose your place.
Keep the view clear
Talk with your celebrant and photographer about where you will stand, the signing table and any microphone or ceremony decorations. Check that guests can see and that suppliers have room to work.
If you would prefer guests to put their phones away, ask your celebrant to explain that before the ceremony begins.
Tell us about the important moments
Mention readings, surprise entrances, family roles or cultural elements in advance. Your photographer can prepare without asking you to repeat anything afterwards.
Share any privacy preferences or people who would rather not appear in publicly shared photographs.
Leave room after the ceremony
Allow time for congratulations and a short list of group photographs before moving on. Keep the list realistic for your coverage and the people attending.
