Adelaide Engagement Photos – Engagement Photographer for Elopements & Micro Weddings

Thinking about eloping or planning a micro wedding in Adelaide?

A lot of couples who find KISS Package are in the same place.

They know they don’t want a big traditional wedding.

They’re thinking about an Adelaide elopement or a micro wedding in South Australia.

But they’re not quite sure where to start.

Instead of jumping straight into planning a wedding, there’s a simple first step.

Come and spend an hour with me for a relaxed engagement photo session in Adelaide.

No pressure.

No expectations.

Just photos, a walk, and a conversation about what your wedding could look like.

Engagement photo session offer

Normally these Adelaide engagement photo sessions are $500.

For couples considering a KISS Package elopement or micro wedding, I’m offering them for $250.

And if you decide to book your wedding with KISS Package, the $250 comes straight off your wedding package.

That means many couples end up with their engagement photos included in their wedding booking.

A relaxed Adelaide engagement photo session

These engagement sessions are one hour and available in:

• Adelaide
• Port Willunga

Port Willunga is one of my favourite locations for engagement photos in South Australia.

The cliffs, the beach, and the soft evening light make it one of the most beautiful places for couples photography near Adelaide.

Adelaide also offers great locations for engagement photos, including:

• Adelaide Botanic Gardens ( Permit fees apply )
• city parks and laneways
• coastal locations
• places that are meaningful to you both

The goal isn’t stiff poses or awkward photos.

It’s simply to capture natural engagement photos that feel relaxed and real.

Why couples do engagement photos before their wedding

One thing I’ve noticed over many years working as an Adelaide wedding photographer is this:

Most couples have never had professional photos taken together before.

An engagement shoot gives you a chance to:

• feel comfortable in front of the camera
• get to know your photographer
• relax before your wedding day
• have beautiful photos together before the wedding

It also gives us time to talk through your wedding ideas.

Whether you’re planning:

• a legals-only ceremony in Adelaide
• an Adelaide Hills elopement
• a Port Willunga beach elopement
• or a small micro wedding in South Australia

we can talk through what your wedding day could look like.

A simple way to start planning your wedding

Planning a wedding doesn’t need to begin with stress.

It can start with something simple.

A walk.
A conversation.
A few photos together.

And seeing if a KISS elopement or micro wedding in Adelaide feels right for you.

Tim and Colin’s wedding at Paracombe Premium Perry

Set against the picturesque backdrop of vineyards and the pear orchard, their ceremony took place in an open grass area below the dam, offering panoramic views of natural beauty. One moment that will remain in my memory is when their daughter made her grand entrance, a surprise that left everyone in awe. Instead of the traditional procession, Tim and Colin appeared separately, each walking atop the dam wall before meeting in the middle, creating an image reminiscent of a wedding cake topper. As they walked hand in hand toward Penelope, their celebrant, for a heartfelt and emotional ceremony, the love and happiness radiating from them was truly palpable.

Testimony:

“Coming across Glenn’s website and viewing his gallery of predominantly nature settings, we knew he was the right person for our pear orchard wedding.  Glenn was very accommodating and extremely easy to plan and deal with. Throughout the process, we had no concerns or worries about the photography aspect of our special day”

“Glenn arrived, and rapidly cast his experience and professional eye over the venue, whilst creating an ease and warm comfortability between us. He felt more than a photographer, he felt like a good friend we had known for years, as he kept us at ease and laughing throughout, even our teenager”

“He sent a few samples to us within 24 hours, of which the fantastic quality, composition, lighting, colours and clarity left us eagerly awaiting the final photos in the weeks to come.  We wholeheartedly recommend Glenn” – Colin & Tim.

No. 1 guest

Adding a touch of sweetness to their union was their one-year-old son, who played the endearing role of No. 1 guest. The little one brought joy to the celebration, making the day even more memorable.

Champagne celebration after the Ceremony

The elopement plan was carefully crafted

Marrying on one day and, in a surprise twist, announcing their elopement during their son’s first birthday party the following day. The element of surprise added a magical touch to the celebrations.

Love Takes Center Stage with an Elopement on Kangaroo Island:

Christie Sym and Gavin Perry’s Elopement Wedding

In a celebration of love that transcended city limits, Christie Sym and Gavin Perry exchanged vows in a dreamy ceremony at Wildside Ocean Retreat, Mouth Flat Beach, Kangaroo Island. The Sunday Mail is thrilled to bring you the enchanting details of this intimate affair that unfolded against the backdrop of the island’s breathtaking landscapes.

A Seaside Proposal to Remember

Gavin Perry’s proposal to Christie Sym was nothing short of magical. The couple, taking a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life, found themselves in Old Bar, a charming beachside town on the mid-north coast of NSW. Staying at the quirky Boogie Woogie Beach House, the couple experienced an unexpected serenade during dinner. seizing the opportunity, Gavin enlisted the help of the musicians to make a heartfelt announcement, leading to a surprise proposal that left Christie in tears of joy.

Elopement on Kangaroo Island

Having fallen in love with Kangaroo Island during a prior trip from Byron Bay, the couple decided to make it the destination for their nuptials. With the blessing of their parents, they exchanged vows overlooking the ocean waves in a ceremony that embodied intimacy and romance.

Overcoming Challenges for a Magical Day

For Gavin Perry, the wedding day held special significance. Having endured a brain injury from a car accident at age 17, Gavin never envisioned his own wedding day. Yet, against the odds, he and Christie celebrated their love in a heartfelt ceremony that showcased resilience and the power of love.

Barefoot Bliss and Wild Bouquets

Christie, 39, radiated beauty in a full-length lace dress as she chose to say “I do” barefoot. Her bouquet, a stunning blend of wild native flowers and locally sourced blooms, added a touch of natural elegance to the affair.

Capturing Moments by the Waves

The newlyweds, captured in spectacular photos by the ocean, embraced the scenic beauty of Kangaroo Island. Holding each other against the backdrop of sand and waves, Christie and Gavin created timeless memories of their special day.

Families United

Christie, the daughter of Peter and Marilyn Sym of Collarcy Plateau, Sydney, joined hands in marriage with Gavin, the son of Brian and Helen Perry of New Brighton, New South Wales. Their union marked the joining of two families, creating a bond that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

In a celebration that showcased the triumph of love over adversity, Christie Sym and Gavin Perry’s wedding on Kangaroo Island will forever be etched in their hearts and the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to witness their beautiful union. The Sunday Mail wishes the newlyweds a lifetime of love, happiness, and continued enchantment.

Kangaroo Island, with its breathtaking natural beauty and serene landscapes

The perfect backdrop for couples seeking an intimate and meaningful wedding experience. In this blog post, we’ll take you on a journey to witness the love story of Christie and Gavin, a couple who chose simplicity and authenticity for their special day. Deb, their celebrant, shares her insights and the beautiful adaptation of a heartfelt poem that encapsulated their deep love.

The Couple’s Vision: Simple and Meaningful

Christie and Gavin knew from the start that their wedding should reflect their genuine love for each other without unnecessary extravagance. They didn’t want to follow traditional norms but instead desired a ceremony that held deep meaning for them.

Deb, their wise celebrant, understood this vision perfectly. She believed that love should be at the forefront of the ceremony, and anything that didn’t resonate with the couple’s feelings had no place in their special day. As Deb puts it, “Christie and Gavin’s ceremony was very simple as they didn’t want unnecessary fluff that didn’t mean anything to them.”

The Poem That Spoke Their Hearts

The poem Christie chose, an adaptation of “A Reminder for the One I Love” by Rachyl Taylor, beautifully captured the essence of Christie and Gavin’s love story. By altering some words to make it contextually relevant, Deb ensured that every word spoken during the ceremony held deep significance for the couple.

The Adapted Poem: A Love So True

“We say ‘I love you’ just about every day,

Sometimes the words are whispered as we fall asleep at night; sometimes they’re sung up the stairs or accompanied by a quick kiss as we are in the middle of something.

The words are always there, but sometimes we forget to think about how much they really mean.

Every time you hear each other say those three little words,

I want you to remember that they’re coming from the bottom of their heart.

I want you to remember that they love you for everything you are, and for everything they are with you.

I want you to remember that you’re the best person they have ever known, and they feel so lucky to have you in their life.

I want you to remember that true love is forever, and there is no love truer than the love you feel for each other.

I want you to remember that you’re the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to each other, your happy ending, your dream come true, your friend, and your love all wrapped up in one.”

A Word from Our Photographer Glenn: Capturing Moments of Love and Authenticity

In the world of weddings, where emotions run high and love takes center stage, the role of a photographer is to freeze those moments in time, allowing them to be cherished forever. For Christie and Gavin’s Kangaroo Island wedding, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to be their chosen photographer.

As a photographer, I’ve been fortunate to witness countless love stories, each one unique and special in its own way. Yet, Christie and Gavin’s wedding was something truly extraordinary. Their commitment to keeping things simple and authentic resonated deeply with me, and it made my job even more enjoyable.

Embracing the Authenticity of Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island provided the most picturesque setting for this special day. Its unspoiled landscapes & pristine beaches, offered a captivating backdrop for capturing the couple’s genuine love and connection.

From the moment I arrived, I could sense the intimacy and warmth that Christie and Gavin had cultivated. It was evident in the smiles they exchanged, the tender moments they shared, and the way they looked into each other’s eyes. It’s these unscripted, unposed moments that I live for as a photographer.

Kangaroo Island Elopement
Wedding Rings Exchange Ceremony

While traditional wedding photography has its place, there’s something truly magical about candid shots that reveal the raw, unfiltered emotions of the day. For Christie and Gavin, I made it a point to capture these moments—the stolen glances, the heartfelt laughter, and the tearful exchanges between them and their loved ones.

As Deb, beautifully put it, “true love is forever.” My goal was to ensure that every photograph I took would serve as a lasting testament to this eternal love, not just for Christie and Gavin but for all those who were fortunate enough to witness their special day.

A Timeless Collection of Memories

In curating the collection of photographs from this Kangaroo Island wedding, my aim was to create a visual story that would transport anyone who views it back to that day, allowing them to relive the love and authenticity that filled the air. Whether it’s the gentle sea breeze ruffling Christie’s veil or the golden hues of the sunset behind the newlyweds, each image is a testament to the beauty of this special day.
