Wedding costs in Australia: planning your own budget

The national average can give you context, but your own wedding budget should start with the day you want and the services you need.

What the 2026 figure means

Easy Weddings reports an average Australian wedding budget of $38,252 in its 2026 industry report. That survey figure covers a mix of weddings; it is not a minimum spend or a quote for a KISS wedding.

Build a budget around your plans

Agree on a comfortable total before choosing extras. List your ceremony, venue hire, photography, food, clothing, flowers, transport and accommodation. Include permits, travel fees and any hire bonds so they do not surprise you later.

Separate costs charged per person from fixed costs. A smaller guest list may reduce catering and hire needs, but a small wedding can still include expensive choices.

Compare the same inclusions

Check the hours of photography, celebrant services, guest limits, styling and location arrangements in each quote. A ceremony-only price and a venue package cover different things.

Our standard KISS packages can be arranged at your chosen location, subject to availability, travel and permission. Named venue packages list their own inclusions.

Choose where your money matters most

Decide together which parts you care about most and where you are happy to keep things simple. Save written quotes and payment dates in one place, and ask before adding a service or increasing guest numbers.

If you have a budget in mind, include it when you enquire. It helps Deb suggest options that fit your plans.
