Feeling comfortable in your wedding photographs

You do not need to know how to pose. Tell your photographer how you feel and let them guide you when it helps.

Talk about your concerns

Mention anything that makes being photographed uncomfortable, the photographs you enjoy and any movements or positions you would rather avoid.

Your photographer can explain their approach and build time into the day so you are not rushed from one photograph to the next.

Give yourselves something to do

A short walk, holding hands or talking together can feel easier than standing still and waiting for the camera. Wear shoes you can move in and take a break when you need one.

You can look at each other and enjoy the place. Every photograph does not need a smile towards the lens.

Consider a session beforehand

An engagement session can help you get used to the camera and meet your photographer before the wedding. It is optional; discuss whether it would be useful for you.

Leave time for the real moments

Keep room in the timetable for congratulations, your guests and a quiet moment together. A few planned group photographs can sit alongside the candid parts of the day.
